CSCI is growing and seeking to hire Construction Superintendents with proper experience who are ready to apply themselves with a progressive company.


Hiring Superintendent Positions on:

• East Coast from Homestead to the Melbourne area.

• West Coast from Naples to the Lakeland area.


Candidates Must Have 3+ Years Experience in:

• Concrete and Masonry, or Framing Foreman, or Superintendent

• Shell Superintendent

• Residential Homebuilding Superintendent or 

• Construction Manager (at a builder where Shell is self-performed)


Additional Requirements:

• Drug Free

• Valid Driver’s License

• Excellent plan reading skills

• Ability to work much of the day in the Florida heat with varied hours dependent on weather and workload


Additional Skills Preferred:

• Spanish speaking

• Ability to do quantity takeoffs for Concrete, Masonry and/or Framing

• Comfort with tablets

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Ability to “square up a slab”

• Ability to “layout for block”

Job Position Description

SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Superintendents supervise all phases of assigned shell construction projects, ensuring quality standards and product delivery dates are met. Superintendents oversee and carry out shell construction projects, managing the project and directing the work of employees and sub-contractors, exercising discretion and independent judgment in order to accomplish the management of the project. This position implements company policies and operating practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as contact for shell construction project(s) to builders, other trades, inspectors, sub contractors and company employees.

• Maintain appropriate communication and satisfactory customer relations; handle and resolve customer complaints and grievances.

• Analyze construction project plans to determine construction requirements.

• Analyze and plan installation and construction of shell, verifying estimated material and labor requirements to complete job.

• In conjunction with Area Manager, sources and identifies subcontractors.

• Assign work to employees and subcontractors using material and labor requirements.

• Direct and supervise activities of subcontractors and employees to meet the project schedule.

• Investigate and resolve worker problems.

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.

• Ensure quality standards.

• Ensure that operations conform to local, state and federal safety laws and regulations.

• Ensure that operations conform with the company’s safety plan.

• Coordinate and communicate with inspectors in connection with municipality inspections.

• Monitor and control material waste.

• Ensure proper job cost coding for all labor/material costs.

• In conjunction with Area Manager, ensure production and personnel problems are resolved

• Using independent judgment and discretion, ensure the project is staffed properly so it can be completed on schedule with minimum cost overrun and maximum profit to company

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills and abilities

• Minimum three (3) years construction services experience with experience in two or more of the following trades: form work, block work, concrete finishing or carpentry.

• Demonstrated project management skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry practices, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of houses and buildings. 

• Proficiency in blueprint reading

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with team members. 

• Ability to work independently and self-directed and takes initiative in seeking efficiencies of processes. 

• Ability to give direction, adapt to change, establish relationships.

• Ability to manage through conflict, complexity and problem solve issues. 

• Negotiation/persuasion skills; ability to influence decision makers.

• Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to handle several projects concurrently. 

• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and correctly. 

• Position requires critical thinking skills and ability to “think on your feet”

• Ability to comfortably communicate, both verbally and in presentation, conversation and written correspondence to employees, project team, sub-contractors and customers.

• Strong work ethic

• Residential homebuilding experience, preferably with a large, production builder Knowledge of federal, state and local safety laws and regulations

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Estimating experience

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management Spanish speaking skills helpful

• OSHA 10 hour or 30-hour Certification Forklift Operator Certification
